Wow, it actually snowed today! This is my first white Christmas in about eight years, and the first ever in Houston! I built a snowman in my driveway! So in honor of the cold weather, I'm going to post my recipe for the best hot chocolate I've ever had.
4 packets Swiss Miss hot chocolate
3 1/2 cups hot water
1/2 candy cane (mint)
2 dashes ground cinnamon
a pinch of mint flakes
1/2 tbs. M&Ms.
mini marshmallows to taste (optional)
Combine ingredients in a large thermos or coffeepot, adding marshmallows last. Microwave if necessary to reach temperature hot enough to melt candies. Stir until candy cane and M&Ms are completely dissolved. Makes three big servings.
